HARTFORD, CT (October 31, 2013) – Insurity, Inc., a provider of core insurance processing software and services, today congratulates its client Elizabeth (Liz) Heck, president and chief operating officer of Greater New York Mutual Insurance Company (GNY), on being named one of the Top 10 Women in Insurance Leadership. Now in its sixth year and presented by Insurance Networking News, the Women in Insurance Leadership awards program is designed to each year recognize the top 10 female insurance executives for their extraordinary accomplishments, pursuit of excellence, leadership and professional performance, and influence that is redefining the insurance business and technology industry landscape.
Nominated by Insurity, GNY’s Liz Heck was recognized for her leadership role in the company’s continued growth and expansion of its lines of business and geographic reach — all while protecting the company’s reputation as a pro-active, hands on organization focused on its policyholders’ well-being. Liz’s leadership and decision making were put to the ultimate test during and in the aftermath of Hurricane Sandy in 2012 and – an extreme event that proved GNY had made the right risk decisions, and had the right processes and policyholder services in place.
The Women in Insurance Leadership program includes a ranking methodology determined by examining the quantitative and qualitative aspects of an individual’s performance, and overall influence on the institution, the industry and the community in which she lives and works. The judges also rank the candidate’s performance based on job complexity, contribution to the institution’s top and bottom lines, brand equity/shareholder value creation, corporate governance and ethics, management style and education and on her level of community involvement.
This year’s primary judges were all named an INN “Women in Insurance Leadership” in 2012 and bring a wealth of knowledge, wisdom and experience to their roles.
Commenting on Heck’s recognition, Lani Cathey, Senior Vice President, Sales and Marketing, Insurity, said, “On behalf of the entire Insurity team, I congratulate Liz on this well-deserved recognition and for her outstanding accomplishments. She is a true leader and visionary, and a tremendous asset to the insurance industry. I would also like to extend a special thank you to Insurance Networking News for continuing to recognize outstanding women in insurance and their contributions.”
